Instructions and enquiries

We are always happy to discuss potential instructions or provide guidance on the material required to conduct reliable forensic examinations. We aim to be accessible and responsive to those instructing us and are able to work within Legal Aid Agency (LAA) rates where appropriate.

Scope of work

The work of Verden Forensics is led by an experienced forensic practitioner with a background in the analysis of digital multimedia evidence for criminal, civil and family proceedings.

Their academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Media Forensics from the National Center for Media Forensics at the University of Colorado Denver, USA, and a First Class Honours degree in Audio Engineering.

Professional experience includes instructions across a wide range of case types, from minor matters to serious offences, with the provision of expert witness evidence in legal proceedings.

Their research contributions include peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences on topics such as audio authentication, audio enhancement, and video authentication. This work has also led to the development of in-house multimedia authentication software incorporating analytical techniques not available in commercial tools.

They are the author of Digital Audio Forensics Fundamentals and have contributed to international research initiatives, including participation in a US Department of Defense-funded multimedia analysis programme (DARPA MEDIFOR).

Additional roles include Professional Field Advisor to developers of forensic media analysis software, alongside holding UK Security Clearance and Non-Police Personnel Vetting Level 3.

Ongoing professional development is maintained through regular attendance at conferences, training courses, and workshops, ensuring that all forensic examinations are informed by current research, tools, and best-practice methodologies.
