Audio Redaction

Removing or distorting sentences within an audio recording is often necessary when the identity of individuals is to be preserved, or details which are not pertinent to the investigation are featured on the recording, such as identities, bank details or phone numbers. Speakers are redacted through splicing out the section and a beep inserted to indicate the removal of an area, or voice changing processes such as pitch alteration.

We can redact single or multiple sentences within an audio recording to maintain privacy, while documenting and processing the audio with methods which preserve the chain of custody of a recording. This service is often combined with enhancement to provide the highest quality video evidence available.
